Jon W. Randolph, 52, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Lakin, Kansas. He was born August 6, 1964 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Clifford L. and Joyce D. (Williams) Randolph. Jon has been a lifetime resident of Lakin, Kansas. He attended Lakin schools and graduated from Lakin High School in 1983. Jon began working for the City of Lakin electrical department. He later worked for the Farmers Co-op in Lakin and for Wheatland Electric. Jon has been the cemetery superintendent for the Lakin Cemetery since 1992. He also worked maintenance at the Kearny County Courthouse. Jon also volunteered for the Lakin Fire & Rescue and was a 23-year volunteer for Kearny County EMS. He was a member of the Lakin Gun Club, Sportsman’s Lake, and served on the Beymer Park Board. Jon loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding his RZR, mechanics, tinkering, and his dogs, especially Coye. Jon first married Pamela Hahn on October 3, 1986 in Lakin, Kansas. He later married Ashley Schibbelhut on July 7, 2007 in Lakin, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three children; Amanda Randolph (and partner Todd Hilger) of Lakin; TJ Randolph (and wife Haley) of Lakin and Hanna Randolph of Lakin; a brother, Jeff Randolph (and wife Nancy) of Garden City; two sister, Nona Nelson (and husband Mike) of Garden City; and Susan Jones (and husband Tim) of Ida Grove, Iowa; and five grandchildren. Jon is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Lakin with Rev. Aaron Duell and Rev. Rita Stockton officiating. Burial followed at the Lakin cemetery. The family requests memorials be given to the Jon Randolph Memorial Fund to benefit hunting education for youth in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
